3 Man-Made Monuments In Cape Town

Cape Town is a unique city because of its abundant attractions for everyone. This city has both man-made and natural attractions with great history behind them. The man-made attractions of Cape Town can be enjoyed just around the city and are very impressive.
An outstanding landmark in Cape Town is the City Hall that dates back to the year 1905. This Edwardian building has an interesting exterior construction that features bath stone dressings and a clock tower said to be half the size of the London’s Big Ben. The City Hall has a great significant to Capetonians and South Africans in general as it’s here where the former president Nelson Mandela first addressed the nation after his 27 years release from jail. The City Hall is a venue for the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra. Yet another stunning landmark in Cape Town is the De Tuynhuys that was used as a guest house for important Cape Town visitors in the 17th century. This building is important too as it is where F.W de Klerk announced the end of apartheid in South Africa to the world.
At the magnificent Table mountain eastern slopes is the Rhodes Memorial. This is a granite structure that was built in honor of the former prime minister. Cecil Rhodes also found the De Beers Mining Company. This monument is in the site of magnificent sights at False Bay and Table Bay. Next to the memorial structure is a nice tea room for refreshments. Before you head back to the accommodation in Cape Town, you can tour more monuments on your holiday and learn much about Cape Town’s history.
